Elizabeth Cheng is active in the Ann Arbor music community both as a freelance musician and as a dedicated teacher.
As a teacher, Elizabeth works with students of all ages and levels. Her focus is on helping each student develop the technical and artistic skills to achieve his or her individual goals and on fostering a life-long love of music.
Elizabeth is a registered Suzuki teacher. She has completed Suzuki teacher training courses with Ronda Cole, Marilyn O'Boyle, Pat D'Ercole, Wendy Azrak, and Nancy Jackson and string pedagogy with Simon Fischer. Her professional memberships include: Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA), American String Teachers Association (ASTA), and Michigan's chapter of American String Teachers Association (MASTA).
Elizabeth resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan with her husband Paul, who teaches violin and viola, and their four children who are learning to play the violin, cello, and piano.
